What kind of orders are currently running on the CASTFAST platform? Four live examples from production show 3D sand printing in action.
Exciting projects are currently being clocked up by the CASTFAST network. From fast cores to not-so-small batches. Here we have put together four cool examples that show what is possible with 3D sand printing and super-fast collaboration.
Example 1: Clamping clamping block
A raw casting for a manufacturer of high-tech machining centers. The cast iron clamping block will weigh around 60 kg, L/H/W 320/275/200, and is urgently needed. It took us less than 2 hours to go from inquiry to quotation and order. Delivery within three weeks. Running!
Example 2: Lightning-fast cores
Three different sand cores for an aluminum foundry. 150 pieces in total. One of the cores ordered is very delicate and is therefore printed with a finer sand quality than the rest.
We still do the whole thing from order to delivery in 5 working days (!). This enables the foundry to meet a seemingly impossible deadline for an order.
And also receives cost-optimized cores in two sand qualities from a single source.
Example 3: 100 flanges
A small series of 100 flanges for lubrication systems. Inquiry on Thursday, order on Friday, into production on Monday. The printer has been printing ever since. Delivery in five weeks.
The number of pieces allows us to make optimum use of the printed area. It almost looks like molds created with a model plate with four models. Except that the models are virtual.
Example 4: An old acquaintance
We know the pump part! Guide vane housings for giant pumps have complex internal geometries and are often in use forever. Procuring them as spare parts was not easy in the pre-CASTFAST era. That’s why we’re doing it again for the same customer. This time a little smaller, but still quite large.
Need quick cores, molds, spare parts made of cast iron, small series, prototypes? In various sand qualities and casting materials from aluminum to steel and more? Here we go.
